Exciting opportunity to work for a leading FM Service Provider. CBW is currently recruiting for a Fabric Maintenance Engineer to cover a number of commercial contracts throughout Cumbria. The successful candidate will have an all-around understanding of most fabric duties with a proven track record in commercial building maintenance. In return the company is offering a competitive salary of up to £25,500 based on trade qualifications/experience, company van and the opportunity to earn overtime

Hours of work

Monday to Friday - 08:00am to 17:00pm

Key duties & Responsibilities

  • Ability to deliver excellent customer service
  • To undertake basic “Fabric duties” which would include carrying out PPM and reactive maintenance covering; Joinery, Tiling, Painting, Plumbing, Plastering etc
  • Liaising with the contract management team
  • Investigating complaints and taking appropriate action
  • Work overtime to carry out emergency repairs as required
  • Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with safe systems of work and permit to work procedures
  • Use all relevant tools and equipment within the safety guidelines as necessary for the completion of works
  • To ensure the client receives the highest level of service to their assets by carrying out reactive and planned maintenance, minor improvements
  • Ensure jobs are completed to a high standard
  • Ensure jobs are completed wherever possible within the agreed SLA’s


  • A joinery trade qualification (City & Guilds, NVQ, Apprenticeship) would be highly desirable
  • A proven track record in commercial building maintenance
  • An understanding of most building fabric duties (Plumbing, Painting, Carpentry/Joinery, Tiling, Basic Electrical, etc)
  • Good communication skills
  • Health & Safety experience
  • Basic PC literacy, (Microsoft Word, Excel, Internet, smartphone use)
  • Ability to deliver excellent customer service
  • Self-motivation with the ability to manage tight time constraints and prioritise workload
  • Flexible attitude towards working hours as you may be asked to assist on a weekend
  • Driving License
