CBW is currently recruiting for a Lead Night Shift Engineer to be based at a recently completed, high-profile development in the City. This flagship building offers a modern, high-spec working environment within a landmark location.
The successful candidate will work on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern (7pm–7am), carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across all areas of the building. You’ll play a key role in ensuring the building operates efficiently and safely during night hours, maintaining high standards of service and operational excellence.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Carry out both planned and reactive maintenance tasks across the entire site
- Ensure all engineering and compliance paperwork is completed and up to date
- Manage and monitor building systems, including BMS, lighting, and HVAC
- Conduct routine checks and testing – emergency lighting, fire alarms, and statutory systems
- Complete small electrical/mechanical installations and repairs
- Liaise with daytime teams to ensure smooth handovers and continuity of service
- Support site audits and ensure readiness for inspections
- Ensure all health, safety, and compliance standards are met
- Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off
- Hours: 7:00pm – 7:00am
- Electrical or Mechanical qualifications – Level 2/3 NVQ or City & Guilds (or equivalent)
- Multi-skilled background (electrical and mechanical maintenance)
- Experience working in a commercial building maintenance environment
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently during night shifts
- Reliable, proactive, and safety-conscious
- Familiarity with E-Log books and building management systems (BMS)
