Maintenance Joiner - Glasgow City Centre- Static Site - £36,000

CBW have a new opportunity for a skilled and reliable Joiner to join a maintenance team on a static site in Glasgow city centre. The successful candidate will carry out a wide range of planned and reactive joinery tasks to ensure the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of the building. This role is ideal for a professional tradesperson who takes pride in high-quality workmanship and can work effectively within a fast-paced facilities environment.

Hours of work:

Monday - Friday 08.00 - 16.30

OT available at 1.5 and 2.0 

Duties & Responsibilities: 
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs to building fabric and joinery elements.

  • Maintain and repair doors, frames, locks, windows, floors, ceilings, partitions, skirtings, ironmongery, and general woodwork.

  • Undertake small carpentry installations, adjustments, and refurbishment works as required.

  • Respond to maintenance requests and faults promptly, ensuring minimal disruption to building users.

  • Ensure all works are completed safely, in line with health and safety regulations and site procedures.

  • Work closely with other maintenance trades (electrical, mechanical, fabric) to support smooth day-to-day operations.

  • Maintain accurate records of works completed, materials used, and any required follow-up actions.

  • Assist in maintaining stock of materials, tools, and consumables.

  • Provide excellent customer service to site staff, tenants, and visitors.

Essential Skills & Experience
  • Time-served Joiner / Carpenter with relevant SVQ/NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent.

  • Proven experience in building maintenance and facilities services.

  • Strong skills in repair, installation, and general building fabric maintenance.

  • Ability to work independently, prioritise workload, and manage time effectively.

  • Good understanding of health & safety regulations and safe working practices.

  • Competent in using a wide range of joinery tools and equipment.

Desirable
  • Experience working on commercial, education, or public-sector sites.

  • Basic multi-trade skills (e.g., minor plumbing, plastering, or painting).

  • Knowledge of CAFM systems or digital maintenance reporting.
