An exciting opportunity has arisen to work for a leading building services company. CBW is looking for a Hands-on Maintenance Supervisor to be based in a commercial building located in London, Aldgate. The successful candidate will ideally be multi-skilled (Electrical Bias) with a proven track record in commercial building maintenance and hold previous supervisory experience. He or she will also be required to manage their time between carrying out hands-on work / administrative duties across this landlord contract (60/40 split). In return the company is offering a competitive salary of up to £46,000 (Possibly Negotiable), overtime and the chance to work for this established company

Working with the client on site, the successful candidate will be required to carry out the following supervisory and hands on tasks.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Report directly into the Contract
  • Assist the Contract Manager in with the "day to day" running of the contract
  • The Working Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that all activities within the building are undertaken with a professional and conscientious outlook with regards to the quality of work and Health & Safety
  • The Working Supervisor will ensure that there are excellent standards of response to plant failures, completion of assigned work and ensure any abnormal operating conditions and housekeeping issues are dealt with proficiently.
  • It is the Working Supervisors role to act as a co-ordination point for the day-to-day activities on site, specialist service partners and build a relationship with client/tenants.
  • Assist in the management of all maintenance staff on the contracts
  • Arrange specialist sub-contractors
  • Management of all reports/site log books
  • Ensure all paperwork is up to date on each contract and ready for audits
  • Attend client meetings if required
  • Carry out hands on M&E / Fabric maintenance (Hands on / Supervisory)

Hours of Work

Monday to Friday (40 hour working week)

Week 1 - 07:00am to 16:00pm
Week 2 - 10:00am to 19:00pm

Requirements

  • C&G / NVQ Level 2&3 - Essential
  • C&G 17th Edition or 18th Edition
  • HV Qualified - Highly desirable / Not essential
  • You must be able to provide copies of your trade certificates
  • A proven track record in commercial building maintenance
  • Experience of service delivery in high profile office
  • Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing with all levels of staff and clients.
  • Ability to manage and prioritise a demanding and varying workload
  • Attend client meetings if required
  • Have a strong understand of the following; Generators, load banks and controls, AC, DC single phase and three phase motors, UPS systems, batteries, static switches and associated controls, Emergency lighting, Low voltage switch panels and associated breakers, High voltage switch panels and the operation of high voltage systems (11kV) including transformers and VCB’s (training and familiarisation with this system will be made available)
