CBW are currently recruiting for X3 M&E Maintenance Engineers to cover a small portfolio (Circa 6 sites) in London (West-End, Oxford Street area) The successful candidates will be mechanically or electrically qualified with a proven track record in commercial building maintenance ideally within a mobile position. He or she will carry out planned and reactive maintenance across a number of commercial buildings. In return the company is offering a salary of up £38,000, overtime and the chance to work for this established company.

Hours of work

Monday to Friday - 08:00am to 17:00pm

Requirements

  • Electrically or Mechanically qualified - C&G, NVQ or equivalent
  • Must be able to provide copies of your trade certificates
  • Mechanical - An understanding of AHU, Filters, Pumps, Motors, Basic plumbing, Plant rooms etc

Key duties & Responsibilities

  • Supervise work across the school with both external and internal contractors.

  • Open the building in the morning and lock it at the end of the day

  • Responsible for maintaining mechanical installations, repairs and maintenance to M&E Plant and Building Fabric
  • Completing Planned Maintenance in line with SFG20 and GMP Guidelines
  • Complete proactive inspections, remedial repairs and installations
  • To provide support to the wider Engineering Day Team in the event of an emergency call
  • To support in providing cost information for chargeable works on site
  • To provide updates to the Helpdesk Co-ordinator on a regular basis to ensure the CAFM System is up to date
  • Carry out daily checks of plant rooms and equipment
  • Attend training scheduled by the Management Team (E-Learning and role/site specific courses)
  • Provide regular hazard reporting for the site on a weekly basis
  • To carry out any other task as requested by line management that is with competency and does not put yourself at risk

Requirements

  • Mechanical - NVQ or City & Guilds Level 2&3
  • A proven track record in commercial building maintenance
  • Strong knowledge of BMS systems (Trend, Satchwell, Johnsons for example)
  • FGas qualifications an advantage

The main purpose of this role is to have a strong understanding of all-round installation in commercial boiler rooms and be willing to assist the business as and when required in a number of locations. The position is mainly based in London, Essex and across the M25 but the successful candidate may be required to travel nationally as and when required.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • To have knowledge and experience in the installation of commercial boiler rooms, this will include installing boilers, pumps and mild steel screwed pipework
  • To have experience in fitting copper and stainless-steel press-fit pipe and fittings from 15mm – 108mm
  • To carry out heating and hot water installations within occupied commercial buildings / schools, to meet the requirement and expectations of the client / contract to a high standard and in a timely fashion.
  • To have experience in installing mild steel screwed pipework and fittings from 20mm – 65mm
  • To be able to understand pipework schematic drawings and follow to install as per the drawings when these are available
  • To have the knowledge and knowhow to complete medium sized boiler room and heating / hot water installations without the assistance of any pipework drawings
  • To be able to hang / install various different styles of radiators and fan convectors including low surface temperature types.
  • To have previous experience of working in schools and to be aware of associated risks with working in educational premises
  • To be competent of draining down and refilling of heating system/s in order to remove and replace leaking pipework and associated isolation valves
  • To ensure that all work carried out complies with the relevant sections of the ‘Health and Safety at Work Act’ (risk assessment, asbestos awareness etc.)

A successful Building services company are looking for an established Commercial Heating Installation engineer to take responsibility on multiple contracts & projects throughout the business.

You will be working for a company that works with a number of Local Authorities, Housing Trusts and Commercial enterprises. It also takes huge pride in the level of service it provides for its clients.

The main purpose of this role is to have a strong understanding of all-round installation in commercial boiler rooms and be willing to assist the business as and when required in a number of locations.

This role is perfect for an Installation Engineer from a commercial Heating background looking to join an expanding company where they can progress their career further. The position is mainly based in London, Essex and across the M25 but the successful candidate may be required to travel nationally as and when required.

Duties:
  • To have knowledge and experience in the installation of commercial boiler rooms, this will include installing boilers, pumps and mild steel screwed pipework
  • To have experience in fitting copper and stainless-steel press-fit pipe and fittings from 15mm – 108mm
  • To carry out heating and hot water installations within occupied commercial buildings / schools, to meet the requirement and expectations of the client / contract to a high standard and in a timely fashion.
  • To have experience in installing mild steel screwed pipework and fittings from 20mm – 65mm
  • To be able to understand pipework schematic drawings and follow to install as per the drawings when these are available
  • To have the knowledge and knowhow to complete medium sized boiler room and heating / hot water installations without the assistance of any pipework drawings
  • To be able to hang / install various different styles of radiators and fan convectors including low surface temperature types.
  • To have previous experience of working in schools and to be aware of associated risks with working in educational premises
  • To be competent of draining down and refilling of heating system/s in order to remove and replace leaking pipework and associated isolation valves
  • To ensure that all work carried out complies with the relevant sections of the ‘Health and Safety at Work Act’ (risk assessment, asbestos awareness etc.)

He or she will be required to carry out planned and reactive maintenance to the following; AHU, Belts, Filters, Humidifiers (Bottle changes) Pressurisation – basic alarm resets, Copper pipework up to 50mm, Pumps – Strainer cleans, Plant rooms. This is a temporary to permanent position, so he or she will initially be employed on a temporary basis (i.e. £18.00 per hour / paid weekly via a timesheet) should you prove yourself and pass your trial period, then you will have the opportunity to be offered/interviewed for the full time role, which pays up to £38,000.
