🔧 Access Control Engineer – Local Site Coverage 📍 Location: Based in Greenwich | Covering 3 sites across London & the South East
💰 Salary: £48,000 – £56,000 (depending on experience)
🚐 Transport: Own van required – mileage and travel expenses fully covered
Hours:

  • Mon–Thurs: 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM

  • Fri: 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM
    📞 Call-Out: 1-in-5 rota with paid overtime

🏢 The Opportunity CBW Recruitment is partnering with a leading Facilities Management provider to hire an experienced Access Control Engineer. This is a permanent position covering three well-connected sites near Greenwich, offering a highly focused, low-travel role ideal for engineers who prefer consistency and local coverage.

You’ll be responsible for maintaining, servicing, and installing access control and door-entry systems while ensuring excellent service delivery and safety compliance at all times.

🔍 What You’ll Be Doing
  • Carrying out PPMs, fault-finding, and emergency repairs on access control/intercom systems

  • Installing and commissioning access control and door-entry setups

  • Conducting system tests and ensuring adherence to British Standards

  • Keeping detailed service records and compliance documentation

  • Building strong on-site client relationships through professional conduct and effective communication

  • Responding to call-outs as part of a shared rota (1-in-5)

🛠️ What You’ll Need
  • At least 2–3 years' hands-on experience with access control or security systems in commercial/FM environments

  • Recognised qualifications (e.g., NVQ, City & Guilds) in Access Control, Electrotechnical, or related field

  • Full UK driving licence and access to your own van

  • CSCS or CPCS card

  • Good knowledge of controllers, wiring, POE, and networked systems

  • Strong time management and customer service skills

  • Additional training (e.g., BAFE, FIA, First Aid, Emergency Lighting) is a bonus
