Commercial Gas Engineer - Glasgow & Ayr - Salary up to £47,000 DOE

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Commercial Gas Engineer to join an established and growing engineering team, working across a varied portfolio of commercial and domestic properties throughout West Scotland.

This is a varied role suited to an engineer with a strong commercial gas, plumbing and heating background, particularly someone with experience working within Facilities Management environments.

You will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, fault finding and installing a range of commercial heating and gas systems across a diverse customer base.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out servicing, maintenance, repairs and installation of commercial gas and heating systems.
  • Work across a varied portfolio including hotel chains, care homes, farms and commercial properties.
  • Complete planned preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown works.
  • Diagnose faults and carry out repairs safely and efficiently.
  • Complete relevant service reports, documentation and compliance records.
  • Liaise professionally with customers, clients and site teams.
  • Ensure all works are completed in line with relevant gas, health & safety and company procedures.
  • Participate in a 1-in-6 on-call rota, receiving an additional £130 standby payment.
  • Work across Glasgow, Ayrshire, the West of Scotland and surrounding areas.
  • Develop knowledge and experience in renewable technologies, including biomass and heat pump systems, with training provided.

Person Specification:

  • Relevant Commercial Gas qualifications/tickets.
  • A strong background in commercial gas, plumbing and heating.
  • Experience working across commercial or Facilities Management (FM) environments.
  • Experience with servicing, maintenance, fault finding and repairs.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • The ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
  • A full UK driving licence.
  • A professional approach to health & safety and compliance.
  • Experience with biomass and heat pump systems would be advantageous, but is not essential as full training will be provided.
