Electrical Shift Engineer (Days & Nights) – FM Service Provider – Commercial Office – Liverpool Street – £53,000

CBW is currently recruiting for a Shift Engineer to be based in a large commercial office, based in Liverpool Street. This building offers a modern, high-end class A office space, approximately 220,000 sq ft of area spread across 8 floors and all within walking distance to major transport hubs, including Liverpool Street, Aldgate Station, Moorgate Station, Fenchurch Street Station and the Elizabeth Line. My client is a well-established FM provider that is privately owned and has more than 20 years of experience providing a range of FM hard services across London and the Home Counties. This building offers the best-in-class offices, state-of-the-art equipment, and a great working environment, as well as access to a wide range of communal areas, including restaurants, cafés, and shops - ideal for lunch breaks or after-work socialising.

In this role, you will be responsible for delivering both planned and reactive maintenance across the site as part of a dedicated team. The successful candidate will hold electrical qualifications and have a strong background in commercial building maintenance. In return, my client is offering a highly competitive salary of up to £53,000, extensive overtime opportunities, 20 days annual leave, ongoing training, and clear pathways for career progression, along with a 3% pension and healthcare package.

 
Hours of Work:

07:00 am – 19:00 pm & 19:00 pm – 07:00 am - Monday to Friday

 
Key Duties:


  • Deliver PPM and reactive maintenance through the PPM system, ensuring faults are resolved quickly and equipment remains operational.
  • Maintain required spare parts and complete accurate maintenance records/job sheets.
  • Prepare and follow Method Statements and Risk Assessments to ensure safe working practices.
  • Carry out lighting and emergency lighting maintenance, including small installations, fault-finding, and component replacement.
  • Service AC systems (AHUs, FCUs), support basic chiller resets, and perform water treatment temperature checks.
  • Monitor and maintain mechanical plants, pumps, and motors.
  • BMS System - Monitor (i.e. Hot & Colds)
  • Undertake all allocated tasks and perform them in a timely and professional manner.
  • Be proactive in identifying and reporting faults with building services equipment and take steps to resolve them.
  • Be proactive to ensure all H&S issues are reported/escalated as required.
  • Maintain informal communications with Client staff members related to service levels and issues.
  • Report service affecting issues to the site management team for formal communication with the client.
  • Remain flexible with regard to site attendance and tasks undertaken within personal competency.
  • Be fully aware of relevant Health and Safety and general legislative matters.

Requirements:

  • Electrically Qualified
  • City & Guilds - Level 2 & 3
  • City & Guilds - 18th Edition
  • A proven track record in Building Maintenance
  • Good Communication Skills.
  • Multi-Skilled - Mechanical / Electrical.
