CBW Staffing Solutions is currently recruiting for an Electrical Shift Engineer to be based at a prestigious commercial building in King’s Cross, London.
The successful candidate will be electrically biased and hold a relevant C&G Level 3 qualification, with strong experience working within a commercial building environment. The role will involve carrying out planned and reactive electrical maintenance across the landlord’s areas of the building, as well as assisting with general building services and mechanical plant.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Carry out planned and reactive electrical maintenance across the commercial building.
- Lighting maintenance, including small installations, fault finding, lamping and changing ballasts.
- Electrical control panels and power distribution.
- Emergency lighting testing and maintenance.
- Monitor and maintain electrical and mechanical building services.
- Carry out basic maintenance on AHUs and FCUs, including filter changes and cleaning.
- Chiller monitoring and resetting where required.
- Monitor water treatment systems, including temperature checks.
- Monitor mechanical plant and report any faults or issues.
- Carry out basic plumbing duties, including unblocking toilets.
- Maintain and monitor pumps and motors.
- Monitor BMS systems, including hot and cold water systems.
- Undertake all allocated tasks in a timely, professional and safe manner.
- Be proactive in identifying faults with building services equipment and take appropriate steps to resolve them.
- Identify and report any Health & Safety issues and escalate where required.
- Maintain good communication with client staff regarding service levels and any issues.
- Report service-affecting issues to the site management team for formal communication with the client.
- Remain flexible regarding site attendance and tasks undertaken within personal competency.
- Escort and assist specialist subcontractors while on site.
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with relevant Health & Safety legislation and site procedures.
- Electrically qualified to Level 3(C&G, NVQ or equivalent).
- 18th Edition.
- Previous experience working within a large commercial building.
- Proven track record in commercial building maintenance.
- Multi-skilled building services experience.
- Ability to provide copies of trade certificates (essential).
- Good communication skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a shift team.
- Must be able to reliably get to King’s Cross, London for a 07:00 start.
