Location: Chelmsford
Salary: Up to £32,500 per annum, depending on experience
Working Pattern: Hybrid – 4 days in the office, 1 day working from home- Occasional On Site Event Support may be required with flexibility around event days

We are looking for an organised, proactive and detail-focused Events Administrator to join our team and provide administrative and operational support across a portfolio of events.
The successful candidate will be confident working with online portals, WordPress, Microsoft Excel and internal systems, while building positive relationships with clients, exhibitors and suppliers. This is a varied role that requires excellent organisation, communication skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a busy events environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support throughout the planning and delivery of events.
- Create, manage and maintain event portals using WordPress, including back-end administration and content creation.
- Create and update online event portals, uploading exhibitor information, documents, event content and other relevant materials.
- Take, process and manage orders, ensuring information is recorded accurately and efficiently.
- Liaise with clients, exhibitors, suppliers and internal teams, responding to queries and providing a professional level of customer service.
- Monitor shared email inboxes and ensure enquiries and requests are dealt with promptly.
- Maintain accurate spreadsheets, databases and event trackers using Microsoft Excel.
- Raise Purchase Orders and provide instructions to the Accounts team to ensure invoices and payments are processed correctly.
- Prepare and organise event site packs, schedules, exhibitor information and other event documentation.
- Maintain accurate electronic and physical filing systems.
- Assist with general event administration, including data entry, document preparation, record keeping and updating event information.
- Work closely with Project Managers to support the successful planning and delivery of events.
- Provide occasional on-site support at events, assisting Project Managers with event-day requirements.
- Assist with pre-event and post-event administration, ensuring all relevant information and documentation is completed and filed correctly.
- Support the wider events team with ad-hoc administrative tasks and projects as required.
- Previous experience in an administrative, coordination or support role.
- Experience using WordPress, particularly with back-end systems and content creation.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including maintaining spreadsheets, trackers and databases.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise competing deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Confident dealing with clients, exhibitors, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Strong IT skills and the ability to learn and use new systems and online portals.
- Previous events experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
- A proactive, flexible and positive approach to work.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a wider team.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, particularly during busy event periods.
