LVAP Electrical Shift Engineer – Continental Shift – Commercial Building – King’s Cross, London – up to £50,000 Per Annum

My client is seeking an LVAP Electrical Shift Engineer to be based at a large commercial building located in King’s Cross, London. The successful candidate will be electrically biased and hold a relevant electrical qualification (C&G / NVQ), with experience working within a commercial building environment.

The engineer will be responsible for carrying out electrical maintenance across this commercial building, alongside general building services and plant monitoring. In return, the company offers a competitive salary of up to £50,000, further training and career progression.

Hours of Work

Continental Shift – 4 nights, 4 off, 3 days, 3 nights, 6 off, 4 days

07:00 – 19:00 / 19:00 – 07:00

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Carry out LV electrical maintenance and fault-finding across the building
  • Lighting – small installations, fault-finding, lamping, changing ballasts, control panels and power distribution
  • Emergency lighting
  • Air Conditioning – AHUs / FCUs, including filter changes and cleaning
  • Chillers – resetting and basic monitoring
  • Water treatment – temperature checks (not dosing)
  • Monitor mechanical plant
  • Plumbing – including unblocking toilets
  • Pumps and motors
  • BMS system monitoring
  • Undertake all allocated tasks and perform them in a timely and professional manner
  • Be proactive in identifying and reporting faults with building services equipment and take steps to resolve them
  • Ensure all H&S issues are reported/escalated as required
  • Maintain informal communication with client staff regarding service levels and issues
  • Report service-affecting issues to the site management team for formal communication with the client
  • Remain flexible regarding site attendance and tasks undertaken within personal competency
  • Be fully aware of relevant Health & Safety and general legislative matters
  • Escort specialist subcontractors
Requirements

  • Electrically qualified to Level 3 or equivalent (C&G / NVQ etc.)
  • 18th Edition
  • LVAP authorised / LVAP experience
  • Experience working within a large commercial building
  • You must be able to provide copies of your trade certificates (Essential)
  • Proven track record in commercial building maintenance
  • Multi-skilled
  • Good communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Must be able to get to the site for a 07:00 start
