You will be part of a small, skilled team of 3 engineers who know the site inside out and will help you get up to speed quickly. Key duties & responsibilities
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair hospital HVAC systems, including air-handling units, chillers, boilers, and ventilation systems.
- Ensure proper temperature, humidity, and airflow in critical areas such as operating rooms, ICU, isolation rooms, and laboratories.
- Oversee maintenance of plumbing systems, hot water systems, pumps, and medical gas infrastructure.
- Monitor and optimise performance of the hospital’s central plant, including chillers, boilers, cooling towers, and heat exchangers.
- Manage energy use and contribute to efficiency improvement strategies.
- Work closely with facilities management, clinical departments, bio-medical engineering, and contractors.
- Provide technical guidance to maintenance staff and contractors on mechanical system issues.
- Escort sub-contractors around site.
- to make sure the maintenance and log books are filled out correctly.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems such as HVAC, plumbing, heating/cooling equipment, pumps, and ventilation.
- Level 2 or 3 in mechanical engineering
- Previous experience in a hospital, medical facility, or critical-care environment preferred.
- Knowledge of Steam boilers, chillers, heat exchangers, and central plant operations
- General Knowledge of mechanical systems.
