CBW Staffing Solutions is currently recruiting for a Shift Engineer to work directly for the client across a large commercial campus in Barbican.
The successful candidate will be mechanically qualified with a strong background in commercial building maintenance. This is a multi-skilled role covering planned and reactive maintenance across mechanical and electrical building services.
Hours of Work:
- 2 days, 2 nights, 4 off
- Days: 07:00 – 19:00
- Nights: 19:00 – 07:00
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Carry out planned and reactive M&E maintenance.
- Mechanical maintenance and fault finding across building services.
- Maintain AHUs and FCUs, including filters and general servicing.
- Carry out plumbing maintenance and repairs.
- Complete water temperature checks.
- Lighting maintenance, fault finding and small electrical works.
- Carry out emergency lighting tests.
- Monitor plant and building services through the BMS.
- Respond to breakdowns and reactive maintenance issues.
- Escort and coordinate specialist subcontractors.
- Ensure site logbooks and maintenance records are kept up to date.
- Attend client meetings when required.
Package:
- £48,000 basic salary + £4,000 shift allowance (£52,000 total)
- 26 shifts holiday
- 14.5% employer pension contribution

Requirements:
- City & Guilds Level 3 Mechanical qualification
- Able to provide copies of trade certificates.
- Proven commercial building maintenance experience.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with good multi-skilled ability.
- Good fault-finding skills.
- Good communication skills and a professional approach.
