CBW is currently recruiting for a Builder Multi-Trade Maintenance Engineer to cover a number of commercial contracts between Edinburgh and Glasgow. The successful candidate will have an all-around understanding of most brickwork duties including brickwork, blockwork, re-pointing, mortar repairs with a proven track record in commercial building maintenance. In return the company is offering a competitive salary of up to £29,000 based on trade qualifications/experience, company van and the opportunity to earn overtime

Hours of work


Monday to Friday - 08:00am to 17.00pm

Key duties & Responsibilities

  • Ability to deliver excellent customer service
  • To undertake basic “Fabric duties” which would include carrying out PPM and reactive maintenance covering; blockwork, brickwork, repointing, fire doors and fire stopping
  • Liaising with the contract management team
  • Investigating complaints and taking appropriate action
  • Ensuring feedback is provided to the helpdesk on the progress
  • Work overtime to carry out emergency repairs as required
  • Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with safe systems of work and permit to work procedures
  • Use all relevant tools and equipment within the safety guidelines as necessary for the completion of works
  • To ensure the client receives the highest level of service to their assets by carrying out reactive and planned maintenance, minor improvements
  • Ensure jobs are completed to a high standard
  • Ensure jobs are completed wherever possible within the agreed SLA’s

Requirements

  • A proven track record in commercial building maintenance
  • An understanding of most building fabric duties (Brickwork)
  • Good communication skills
  • Health & Safety experience

Key Responsibilities

  • You will be overseeing the Management of 4-5 Site Managers
  • Responsible for the H&S of the sites
  • Work closely with the Contract Support & Technical team to ensure that the service levels are maintained to a consistently high level.
  • Meet with the client to establish steady lines of communication and attend monthly client meetings when required.
  • Responsible for Statutory & Code compliance of sites.
  • Risk Management.
  • Man Management/Team Development.
  • Provide Operational reports monthly and as requested.
  • Investigate and report on major Operational incidents.

My client is ideally looking for an experienced Test & Inspection Engineer who is already capable of producing a high standard of Electrical report to pre-arranged deadlines. The candidate will be an experienced electrician with a good working knowledge of BS7671 and the ability to Complete electrical reports (EICRs/EML) with the minimum of supervision. The candidate will need a keen eye for detail and have an excellent client facing personality. A flexible approach to work is essential and some travelling will be required.

This is a temporary to permanent position, The candidate must be willing to be paid via a weekly timesheet. Should he or she impress during their trial period, they will then have the opportunity to be offered/Interviewed for the full time role.

Key Duties & Responsibilities


  • Fixed wire testing and inspections on commercial, domestic and manufacturing projects
  • Surveying for positioning of access points
  • Survey for equipment location
