CBW Staffing Solutions are currently recruiting for a Mobile Fire and Security Engineer, you will be expected to visit multiple commercial properties to complete the service and maintenance of a wide range of fire alarm systems and security systems, to ensure compliance for all of the customers. The candidate ideally will have previous experience of working on different types of fire alarm systems, such as conventional, bi-wire and addressable systems and will be expected to have some formal qualifications such as that provided by the FIA. This position would be ideal for a Fire Alarm and Security Engineer currently in a similar position who is looking for a new challenge. In return the company is offering a competitive salary of Up to 31.5K depending on experience, with a possible route into further career progression. The successful candidate will be responsible for servicing & rectifying faults on a variety of fire alarm systems, disabled refuge systems & emergency lighting systems. You will also be tasked with helping to enhance/develop the service business, working in a professional manner as both an individual and within the team.

Hours of work

Monday to Friday - 08:00am to 16.30pm
Overtime available

Key duties & Responsibilities


  • Routine & annual servicing of systems
  • Responding to emergency breakdowns
  • Servicing & Commissioning of portable fire fighting equipment
  • Participation of the engineer callout rota as directed by the Service Manager
  • Utilise knowledge of fire alarm & detection the system, emergency lights, disable refuge systems & access control system
  • Liaising with Customers and Staff (internal & external)
  • General Administrative duties
  • Confident & professional communication (both written & oral),
  • Proficient use of IT to record and update company records
  • Interpret data ensuring attention to detail & accuracy
  • Ensure workload is planned & prioritised in accordance with business needs
  • Present a smart, professional appearance to customers & suppliers at all times
  • Deliver flexibility in terms of working hours to meet the demands of the business.

CBW have an exciting opportunity to join a leading FM Service Provider based in South Lanarkshire. Our client is currently looking for a Maintenance Technician on a mobile basis. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in PPM and reactive maintenance including fabric, plumbing, basic electrical and general maintenance. The successful candidate will have a full driving license.

Hours of work

Early shift: 06.00am to 14.30pm
Late shift: 13.30pm - 22.00pm
* 42.5 hours a week / Overtime available

Key duties & Responsibilities

  • Open and close school in accordance with required school occupancy times.
  • Carry out internal and external checks of the building and report faults to Help Desk such as damaged tiles, leaks etc.
  • Carry out non-specialist repairs
  • Ensure subcontractors carry out tasks as per accepted RAMS
  • Ensure subcontractors remove all generated waste from site and leave work area clean and tidy
  • Ensure Waste Transfer Notes are completed and filed where required
  • To be trained as an Authorised Person and to issue Permits to Work where required
  • Ensure all visitors sign in and out of site and to include control of keys
  • Ensure Site Induction has been carried out for all contractors and visitors
  • Ensure Risk Assessments/Method Statements are reviewed for work being carried out
  • Ensure work is carried out to a satisfactory standard before signing Field Report/Completing off job.
  • Ensure the correct PPE is worn or used and is kept in good condition
  • Ensure Reporting Log is updated and sent to Help Desk with Field Report (if applicable)
  • Ensure that PPM tasks are carried out and completed within the timescales
  • Ensure compliance to L8 water hygiene standards
  • Ensure the operation of the school is compliant at all times.
  • Ensure all objectives meet the client’s expectations.
  • Update daily alarm activation report (If Any) and send to Helpdesk along with Securitas reports.
  • Carry out Self Reporting Tasks and update log sheet
  • Adopt a proactive approach to refresh decoration needs.
  • Carry out external low-level power washing of building and main entrances (as and when required)
  • Monitoring and updating of the statutory folders
  • Ensure Plant Room / Switch Room clean and tidy
  • Operation of CCTV as required and in accordance with the CCTV Guidance Policy Document
  • Undertake Grounds Maintenance Audits monthly
  • To be flexible and cover all schools as and when required if necessary
  • If acting in Mobile Role participate in the on-call rota to include issuing of Permits to Work if required
  • Where agreed with Facilities Manager deputise for Operations Supervisors during periods of absence
  • Assist Facilities Manager / Operations Supervisors with any other required duties

Duties include:

  • To monitor and maintain the electrical infrastructure and plant initiating corrective action as required and make sure all plant equipment is compliant with legislation and any PPM & reactive tasks are planned with health and safety as a top priority.
  • To operate electrical plant and equipment and carry out proactive and performance checks and isolations in line with the appropriate safety regulations and guidance.
  • To provide first response for breakdowns or faults, ensuring priority targets are met for reinstating critical systems. Where possible the aim is to achieve first fix to return systems to operation, but if not to escalate and engage others to undertake complex repairs or replacements but retain the ownership of the issue until rectification.
  • To support ongoing reviews, evaluations and performance reporting across all electrical systems to ensure safety and the optimum efficiency is achieved.
  • To detect and report defects or questionable conditions to the Help Desk and escalate where necessary.
  • To carry out regular inspections and demonstrate ownership of switch rooms and equipment to ensure that good standards of housekeeping are being maintained, raising and reporting issues as appropriate.
  • To coordinate contractors and other maintenance staff access and maintenance activities locally within buildings; Control of Electrical works and issuing of relevant permits and safety documentation to ensure that all works are carried out in a safe and controlled manner.
  • To operate and monitor Building Management System (BMS) and Lighting Control Systems and liaise with the Energy Manager to ensure optimal set points.
  • To isolate and reinstate fire detection and warning systems under approved permit arrangements and escalate major isolations or shutdowns

Qualifications

  • Served a recognised Engineering apprenticeship and Scottish Credit and Qualification
  • Framework level 7 (Higher / Scottish Vocational Qualification level 3, Higher National Certificate) or equivalent in one or more of Electrical, Mechanical or Building Services OR the ability to demonstrate the competencies required to undertake the duties associated with this level of post having acquired the necessary knowledge and skills in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of legislative requirements for Electrical installations within a complex commercial or similar environment.
  • C&G 18th Edition IET Regulations.
  • Knowledge of Fire, Security, Building Management and Lighting Control systems.

Key duties & Responsibilities

  • Ability to deliver excellent customer service
  • To undertake basic “Fabric duties” which would include carrying out PPM and reactive maintenance covering; Joinery, Tiling, Painting, Plumbing, Plastering etc
  • Liaising with the contract management team
  • Investigating complaints and taking appropriate action
  • Ensuring feedback is provided to the helpdesk on the progress of M&E jobs
  • Work overtime to carry out emergency repairs as required
  • Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with safe systems of work and permit to work procedures
  • Use all relevant tools and equipment within the safety guidelines as necessary for the completion of works
  • To ensure the client receives the highest level of service to their assets by carrying out reactive and planned maintenance, minor improvements
  • Ensure jobs are completed to a high standard
  • Ensure jobs are completed wherever possible within the agreed SLA’s
Requirements

  • Any trade qualification (City & Guilds, NVQ, Apprenticeship) would be highly desirable
  • A proven track record in commercial building maintenance
  • An understanding of most building fabric duties (Plumbing, Painting, Carpentry/Joinery, Tiling, Basic Electrical, etc)
  • Good communication skills
  • Health & Safety experience
  • Basic PC literacy, (Microsoft Word, Excel, Internet, smartphone use)
  • Ability to deliver excellent customer service
  • Self-motivation with the ability to manage tight time constraints and prioritise workload
  • Flexible attitude towards working hours as you may be asked to assist on a weekend
  • Driving License

This is a great opportunity to join a mobile team and service and maintain a variety of contracts throughout the Central Belt. You will be responsible for delivering, services, repairs, small installation and maintenance of a wide range of commercial buildings such as education facilities, hospitals, offices and entertainment establishments. The successful candidate will be Gas Safe commercial gas qualified with COCN1 or CODNCO1 as minimum. Extensive experience in commercial building maintenance is essential including Gas and Air conditioning in particular. In return the company is offering a competitive salary of £34,000, overtime and career progression

Monday to Friday - 08:00am to 17:00pm

Requirements

  • Commercial Gas Safe qualifications, COCN1/CODNCO1 minimum
  • FGAS would be highly desirable (Not essential)

In return the company is offering a competitive salary paying up to £50,000 based on qualifications/experience and car allowance.

Key duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensure delivery of projects is in line with financial and timescale requirements, through effective management of planning labour, materials and health and safety.
  • Responsible from the inception to final completion for the delivery of projects as per the clients requirements.
  • Take responsibility for monitoring, controlling and reporting on individual projects to agreed timescales.
  • Carry out site check and ensure all works being carried out as per the contract requirements in association to drawing and quality of works.
  • Attend progress meetings with clients and internal management
  • Provide support to key support to staff on site.
  • Responsible for the health & safety on site and promoting H&S culture.

Requirements

  • Relevant M&E industry qualifications
  • SMSTS and CSCS
  • Previous M&E building services project management experience
  • Knowledge / experience Engineering maintenance both mechanical and electrical
  • Previous experience of managing projects on time and in budget
  • Strong understanding of M&E

Key duties & Responsibilities


  • Preparation of material take offs and liaison with subcontractors/suppliers to quantify requirements of a tender.
  • Pricing sub-contractors packages for a large amount of M&E building services
  • Obtain competitive and accurate quotations from specialists.
  • An ability to understand and verify supplier and subcontractor quotations
  • Ensure tenders are prepared to a high standard and meet the client's deadlines.
  • Liaising with other members of the estimating team and contracts managers.
  • Carry out estimates using current estimation packages.
  • Develop working relationships with design consultants, main contractors and clients to establish communication paths.
  • Undertake site visits and surveys
  • Evaluate and clearly understand the details and requirements for each tender
  • Be up to date with the latest estimator techniques and procedures
  • Assessing and adhering to all risk assessments and health and safety
Requirements

  • Proven experience as an Estimator in Hard FM services, working within an M&E Contractor environment.
  • HNC, HND or bachelor degree in an industry relevant subject
  • Strong estimating experience with a proven track record within the construction and /or facilities management sectors
  • Excellent understanding of commercial tendering process and procedures
  • Able to manage numerous Contracts / Projects
  • Analytical skills to aid in the review of data and a keen eye for detail
  • Able to work to tight and strict deadlines
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Ambitious and enthusiastic towards both your career and projects

An exciting opportunity to join a well established facilities management company l has arisen. CBW are currently recruiting for an Electrical Tester to work on a mobile basis looking after commercial, domestic and manufacturing projects across a cluster of buildings in Edinburgh. The successful candidate will be electrically qualified (C&G, NVQ, 17/18th Edition) with a proven track record in electrical testing (Ideally within a small team or working on your own).

My client is ideally looking for an experienced Test & Inspection Engineer who is already capable of producing a high standard of Electrical report to pre-arranged deadlines. The candidate will be an experienced electrician with a good working knowledge of BS7671 and the ability to Complete electrical reports (EICRs/EML) with the minimum of supervision. The candidate will need a keen eye for detail and have an excellent client facing personality. A flexible approach to work is essential and some travelling will be required.

This is a temporary to permanent position, The candidate must be willing to be paid via a weekly timesheet. Should he or she impress during their trial period, they will then have the opportunity to be offered/Interviewed for the full time role.

Key Duties & Responsibilities


  • Fixed wire testing and inspections on commercial, domestic and manufacturing projects
  • Surveying for positioning of access points
  • Survey for equipment location
  • Complete all installation & commissioning activities on site as per assigned project(s)
  • Ensure all installations are installed and tested to client/project specifications
  • Perform all duties safely and to industry best practice
  • Complete project reports/paperwork and upload within agreed project SLA
  • Ensure all document reports are submitted to the required standards and timescales
  • Receive and check equipment/IRM deliveries and report damage/shortages to office/customer
  • Maintain company issued vehicles and equipment with respect and to a high standard and report all issues in a timely manner

Hours of Work

Monday to Friday (may be asked to work some weekends depending on site)
The flexibility to work 40 hours per week, including evening/night shifts to support customers’ requirements

  • Experience working in an electrical testing environment
